Urology
Urology services at Navarro Regional Hospital focus on the urinary tract and system, including the bladder and kidneys, and the male reproductive organs.
Lithotripsy
We offer shock wave and laser lithotripsy treatments. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is the most common kidney stone procedure. It sends shock waves through the body to break stones into pieces and is a noninvasive method of treatment that takes less than an hour to complete.
On the day of treatment, you may undergo X-rays and other diagnostic procedures to locate the stone. In most cases, you will get a general or regional anesthetic, but your doctor will discuss options with you prior to treatment.
Call a doctor immediately if you have symptoms of a kidney stone, including:
- Severe pain in your side, abdomen, groin or genitals that may come and go in waves.
- Blood in your urine.
